  • A Mac running OS X 10.7.5 or higher, OR
  • iTunes 10.5 or higher

How to set up iCloud on Mac:

There is not much to know to set up iCloud on a Mac. In OS X 10.7.2 or higher, the iCloud software is built into the OS. So if you have the required OS then you don’t need to install anything.

Here’s what you only need to know

  • Click on the “Apple” menu in the top left corner and then choose “System Preferences” to access to your iCloud settings
  • Check if you are signed in or not. If you are not signed in, then use your Apple or iTunes account to sign in.

  • After downloading install it
  • Now launch the iCloud Control Panel
  • Next, sign in with your iTunes account or Apple ID

How to check icloud Storage?

To check how much of your 5GB space you are using and how much is left just follow these steps

On Mac and Windows – Open the Control Panel in Windows or iCloud Preferences in Mac. There is a bar across the bottom which shows how much space is used and how much is left.

On iOS – Tap the “Settings” and then tap “iCloud”. Next, tap “Storage & Backup”. Now look for the storage menu and check your storage left.

How to Manage iCloud Backups

If you want to delete some individual backups that you don’t need, then just follow the steps that you used to check the icloud Storage.

  • On the storage screen, click Manage or Manage Storage
  • Now you will see full system backups and the backup of the apps that you used
  • If you want to delete the app backups then click or tap the app to see which documents or files are backed up. Now, to delete, swipe across the file and tap the delete button.

If you want to delete full system backups, then select a backup and click “Delete” if you are using a desktop or tap the backup and then “Delete Backup” on iOS. Only delete the backups if you don’t need them

How to Restore iOS Devices from iCloud Backup

The process of restoring the data that you have backed up on iCloud is same for iPhone, iPod, and iPad.

  1. Press the Home button when you see the “Hello” screen,
  2. Select a language.
  3. Select a country or region.
  4. Choose a Wi-fi network and sign into it.
  5. Enable or disable Location Services.
  6. Set up Touch ID.
  7. When you get to the “Apps and Data” screen, tap Restore from iCloud Backup.
  8. Enter your Apple ID and password.
  9. Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  10. Select the backup you want to use. Tap Show all backups to view older backups stored in iCloud.
